The historical documents indicate that the Aino mill was part of the socio-economic context of this alpine village already before the year 1800.

From 1801 on—the year when Gioan Antonio Marchesi rented "the two mills for the agreed amount of a quart of grain per annum"—the fate of the craft complex would be intertwined for nearly a century with the life of this Poschiavino an that of his son Giuseppe, two artisans full of resourcefulness and initiative.
